A hands-on engineer turned Pro Stock powerhouse, Phoenix native Matt Hartford balances life as the president of Total Seal Piston Rings with the demands of a full-time NHRA campaign. After clinching the 2007 Comp Eliminator world title, he moved into Pro Stock and scored his breakthrough national victory at Houston in 2018, quickly following with hometown glory at the 2019 Arizona Nationals. Eight national wins later, Hartford is now one of the category’s most consistent threats—renowned for methodical tuning decisions, sharp reaction times, and a calm approach that belies the 1.0-second chaos at the tree.
The 2024 season produced career highs in both elapsed time and mile-per-hour and a stout sixth-place finish in the standings. He has carried that momentum into 2025: low qualifier honors at the Arizona Nationals, a string of three straight final-round appearances, and a $40,000 triumph in the GETTRX Pro Stock All-Star Callout at Norwalk have vaulted the GETTRX/Total Seal Camaro into the championship hunt, sitting fourth overall at mid-season. With KB Titan power under the hood and decades of piston-ring expertise behind every engine, Hartford continues to prove that technical know-how and driving finesse make a formidable combination on race day.
