Jeg Coughlin Jr. returns to full-time Pro Stock competition with Elite Motorsports for the 2024 NHRA season, after stepping away in 2020. With a drag racing career spanning over three decades, Jeg Jr. has earned six NHRA world championships, 84 national event victories, and wins in seven different eliminator categories. Following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Jeg Coughlin Sr., Jeg Jr.’s first win came in 1990, and he claimed his first national championship in 1992, both in Super Gas.

He turned to Pro Stock in 1997 and earned his first win in just his second start. Jeg Jr. went on to win his first of five Pro Stock championships in 2000 and added more titles in 2002, 2007, 2008, and 2013. After a brief return to racing in 2023, he finished strong with semifinal and quarterfinal appearances. Ranked fourth in all-time Pro Stock wins, Jeg Jr. is known for winning from every starting position in an event.

His wife Samantha also races in Super Comp and Super Gas. They have two children, Carly, a competitive cheerleader, and Jeg III, an Ohio State graduate who runs a podcast called “I Can Fly.”
