Team: Elite Motorsports

Driver: Troy Coughlin Jr.

A third-generation member of drag racing’s famed Coughlin family, Troy “TJ” Coughlin Jr. has already compiled a résumé that spans junior dragsters to Pro Stock. The 30-year-old Ohio native is a three-time NHRA sportsman champion with 17 national, regional, and divisional victories before even stepping full-time into Pro Stock, underscoring the depth of talent behind the yellow-and-black JEGS colors.

Coughlin’s Pro Stock breakthrough came at the 2024 NHRA New England Nationals, where a .013-second reaction time and 6.584-second pass delivered a memorable holeshot victory over teammate and six-time world champion Erica Enders — his fifth Pro Stock Wally and 13th national-event win overall.

He carried that momentum into 2025 by pocketing the $125,000 top prize at the SCAG Pro Superstar Shootout in Bradenton, Florida, outrunning a 16-car all-star field for an early-season statement win.

Ten races into the NHRA Mission Foods season, Coughlin sits eighth in the Pro Stock standings with 2,360 points, buoyed by a string of consistent quarter- and semi-final appearances that keep Elite Motorsports firmly in championship contention heading toward the Countdown.
