Team: Murillo Motorsports
Driver: Mike Murillo
A larger-than-life Texan with an even larger trophy case, Mike Murillo is a 16-time world champion whose résumé spans NMRA Super Street Outlaw, NMCA, Outlaw 10.5, and no-prep shootouts. The San Antonio shop owner rocketed to mainstream fame in 2018 when he captured the Season 2 title of Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings, becoming the first racer to hoist the $50,000 championship check in the series’ modern era.
Murillo’s iconic ride is “LaFawnduh,” a twin-turbo ’93 Mustang draped in Lone Star blue with a star on the hood. After a fiery 2022 crash at Norwalk scorched the car, he chronicled an extensive rebuild—switching to a billet Hemi and larger HPT turbos—then returned in 2023 with renewed pace and a string of invitational round-wins.
Heading into the 2025 No Prep Kings Season 8 campaign, Murillo is once again a fixture in the invitational brackets, pairing family-run grit with High Performance Lubricants and a fresh SCT livery. Beyond the track he operates Murillo Motorsports, a 3,500-hp Mustang dyno and tuning facility, and remains one of the sport’s most approachable ambassadors—proving that championship pedigree and fan-first charisma can share the same lane.
