Mount Joy, Pennsylvania’s Sean Strausbaugh is the mechanical mastermind behind Buch Motorsports’ aggressive, barn-storming No. 13 sprint-car operation. A former racer who shifted his focus from the cockpit to the toolbox, Strausbaugh’s keen eye for chassis balance and shock data has made him one of Central PA’s most sought-after crew chiefs.
Since joining team owner Tom Buch in 2021, Strausbaugh has steered a rotating roster of talented drivers—including Paul McMahan, Justin Peck, and now Daison Pursley—to more than a dozen All Star Circuit of Champions and Kubota High Limit Racing victories, plus multiple marquee podiums at Eldora, Knoxville, and Port Royal. His consistency has kept the team in the hunt for High Limit’s Cometic Gasket Crew Chief of the Month honors, where he ranked inside the top-ten through the opening stretch of the 2025 season.
Entering the 2025 campaign with rookie phenom Pursley in the seat, Strausbaugh continues to leverage data-driven setup changes and meticulous maintenance to wring every ounce of speed out of the family-style Pennsylvania shop—proving that precision preparation can match the sport’s most heavily funded programs on any given night.
